Alone by the Sea
01:44
|
|
||
I’m locked away, so far away, on an island
Away from the others, alone by the sea
I watch all the steam ships, along on the horizon
With no one to talk to, not anybody
Guiding ships to land, he’s the lonesome lighthouse man
On rainy days I take a stroll by the sand dunes
My swollen eyes, shining bright, shed a tear
The sun sets, making way for the full moon
The sky above has never seemed so clear
Guiding ships to land, he’s the lonesome lighthouse man

Land Ahoy
01:24
|
|
||
Land ahoy!
Slow and steady boys, we’re almost home!
Wa-hey!
Wait a minute, something’s not right.
Captain, that doesn’t seem bright enough to be a lighthouse.
Could it be that---
SMASH!!!
Curse you lighthouse man, curse you lighthouse man! Lighthouse maaaaaaaan! Lighthouse maaaaaaaaaaan!
These men it seemed were drowned beneath the waves
The townsfolk now will blame me for these graves
I'll clear my name and live beyond this night
The fisherman shall help me set this right

Fisherman's Theme
02:02
|
|
||
We’ll soon reach the shore,
Where they’ll settle the score.
They’ll all hate your guts,
Set off their filthy mutts
Who’ll sink their teeth into ya,
And get you put away
Till the end of your days,
Till the end of your days!
Me, I just keep rowing,
I don’t judge thee who sin,
Just an ‘umble old fisherman,
Who turns his blind eye on
Crime and foul deeds,
And helps anyone in need
I got young mouths to feed,
I got young mouths to feed!
See those lights off in the distance,
They’re not fond of your existence
Better watch your back,
Or they’ll put a knife in it,
Now you hear the mob a-howling,
and their ghastly dogs a-growling,
I’m your only friend in this town,
Best of luck to you old man,
Best of luck to you old man!

On the Rocks
01:09
|
|
||
Crimson tide, crimson tide
Tears are cried, tears are cried
Bodies all still, bodies all still
All were killed, all were killed
All his plan (no)
All his plan (No.)
The lighthouse man, (NO)
The lighthouse man! (NOOOOOO)
Good people of the town,
This tale is not true,
A plan is afoot to frame me for this crime,
I didn't kill the captain or the crew,
Onward to The Red Herring to gather some more clues

The Red Herring
02:08
|
|
||
Ladies and fishermen,
A warm welcome to you all
The drinks are on the house till ten
Am I mad or just a fool?
The red herring!
The red herring!
The red herring!
The red herring!
The Red Herring’s the place to be
We’ve got everything... and more
We’ll treat you all equally,
Be you rich or be you poor
The red herring!
The red herring!
The red herring!
The red herring!
Lighthouse man, what’s your game?
I can’t deal with your kind here
Go back to whence you came
We’ll put an end to your career
The red herring!
The red herring!
The red herring!
The red herring!
Now who’s this barging in
What’s beneath his mask?
Oh dear lord he’s gonna sing,
I wish I hadn’t asked.

Sicario's Theme
01:13
|
|
||
Greetings one and all,
It’s a pleasure, I am sure,
I stand before you proud and tall
With a message from the cobbler!
“You can barricade your doors
Throw the locks and throw the key
Run and hide across the moors
But you can’t escape from me
For the cobbler’s watching you
From up high and down below
With a merciless accomplice (Who?)
My faithful Sicariooooo”
Yes 'tis I, the Sicario,
So wicked and so blessed
See the faces full of woe,
All shocked and so distressed
The cobbler wants his tax
So you better not forget
I'll drain the blood from all you hags
Just to settle all your debts
Farewell from the Sicario
It really was a treat
I'll see you in the morning
When I'm stealing off your feet!
|

Who is the Cobbler?
02:05
|
|
||
Whooooo is the cobbler?
I’ve gotta find him
Sicario, I’ll follow ya
Whooooo else is in?
Not me!
Or me!
With-out a fee?
You must be cra-zy!
Well, sod all of you folk
You’re giving me a good grilling
But I just know this cobbler bloke
Is the source of all the killing
Li-ar!
Lock him up!
He’s getting a-way!
Mur-der-er!
The hitman, I’ll run after
I’ll clear my good name
I hear his sick laughter
He’s really to blame
What’s this?
A dead end?
He must be hid-ing
round this bend!
This dead end is deserted
That cottage stands detached
That key’s been inserted
I guess I’ll make my catch
Lighthouse man!
You’ve met your match!
Here we come!
We're ready to attack
|
||||
8. |
Thief!
01:20
|
|
||
Stop right there, you are breaking and entering
I’ve caught the filthy crook as he tries re-offending
This is the final straw, your life in this town is finished
I’ll see that you are hung for I’m the judge in this village
Blood on your hands, blood on your hands
A dirty little thief (THIEF!) with blood on your hands
Blood on your hands, blood on your hands
No longer will we let you plague these lands
I’ll see you in court when the clock strikes eleven
You better pray to someone (if they’ll listen) in heaven
You won’t spend your days rotting away in prison
But it will never work, it won’t change my decision
Blood on your hands, blood on your hands
A dirty little thief (THIEF!) with blood on his hands
Blood on your hands, blood on your hands
No longer will we let you plague these lands
(Melodica solo)
What business do you have here anyway?
Come to kill me like those men on the waves?
Well their blood wasn’t spilled in vain,
I won’t rest till you’re covered in chains
You’ve got blood on your hands, blood on your hands
A dirty little thief (THIEF!) with blood on his hands
Blood on your hands, blood on your hands
No longer will we let you plague these lands

12 Angry Fishermen
02:37
|
|
||
Hear ye, hear ye, be ye a-gathered for the trial of the lighthouse man!
This court is now in session, everybody stand
Feast your eyes on the accused, the lighthouse man
You may now be seated, we are ready to commence
With the trial of this man’s unproven offence
Lighthouse man, you have no case
You’re a cold-blooded slayer, a damn right disgrace
You watched the sailors drown one by one
You’ve lost this case already, now there’s nowhere left to run
But we all know the truth!
We all know the truth!
We don’t need no proof,
We don’t need no proof!
He’s a men-ace (He’s a fraud!)
He’s a mon-ster (I’m appalled!)
He’s a danger to our town, he’s a mur-der-er!
He’s a liar! (He’s a clown!)
He’s a loser! (Kill him now!)
We must vote to bring him down to protect ourselves…from him!
Your honour I object, this is biased and unfair
I assure you that my client had no role in this affair
He has reasons to believe the sicario
And his cobbler associate are causing all this woe
I think I've heard enough, this case is clear as day
The motive, method, and the man, the cause of this foul play
Innocent or guilty? Well the jury must decide
Talk it over while the hangman sets the gallows up outside
But we all know the truth!
We all know the truth!
We don’t need no proof,
We don’t need no proof!
He’s a men-ace (He’s a bum!)
He’s a mon-ster (He’s total scum!)
He’s a danger to our town, he’s a mur-der-er!
He’s a liar! (This is done!)
He’s a loser! (He’ll be hung!)
We must vote to bring him down to protect ourselves…from him!
Have the jury reached a verdict?
We find the defendant… guilty.

Death Roe
01:45
|
|
||
On this twilight hour, death is on my doorstep
I’m locked here on my lonesome, I’m starting to accept
The fact this is the last night I’ll spend within this town
I’m going to the place, where angels look on down
Oh, I’m on death row.
I’m at the end of my rope.
No one believes me.
Oh no, will they ever see?
This time tomorrow, I will bid this world adieu
They’ll hang me by the gallows for a crime I didn’t do
And when the cobbler’s sicario continues with his plans
The town will rue the day they blamed the lighthouse man
Oh I’m on death row.
I’m at the end of my rope.
No one believes me.
Oh no, will they ever see?

For years have I this dungeon made my lair,
Ignored by all and smothered in fowl air
Methinks I see a wretch in need of aid
I'll show him how the perfect note is played
Now listen here, good lighthouse man, don’t hang your head in shame,
I’ve heard about your charges and I know you’re not to blame
I am a simple banjo man but wisdom I have gained
And I know a trick that you can use to get yourself unchained
It’s perfect!
It’s perfect!
It’s perfect!
It’s perfect!
D’you remember back in school, you learned your A-B-C
Then 1, 2, 3 and do-re-mi, so, fa and la and ti
Well there’s one thing they didn’t teach that can’t be learnt by rote
So follow my lead, I’ll bring you up to speed, on the fabled perfect note
It’s perfect!
It’s perfect!
It’s perfect!
It’s perfect!
Back in the day mankind was young, he hit upon the wheel
And then we built the pyramids, but yes there’s something still
A wonder to surpass the rest and change the human race
The perfect note will save you from whatever scrape you face
It’s perfect!
It’s perfect!
It’s perfect!
It’s perfect!
Now watch me boy, I’ll strum a chord on my makeshift glockenspiel
Your chains are gone! The door’s ajar. I’ve put an end to your ordeal
Don’t thank me boy, it was a breeze, but now I have to go
Away I’ll fly, bebabeBABEBAEBABABAAAA!

Escape to the Lighthouse
02:22
|
|
||
After escaping from prison,
The man of the lighthouse is hiding,
Confiding in the only friend he has.
Creeping through the passages and alleys,
He makes his way through the murky night,
Out of sight, out of mind, from the town.
The fisherman is waiting at the docks,
His good eye peering through his scope,
And he hoped what he’d seen was not a fact.
“Sicario is up there with his easel,
He’s cut off all the power and the lights are useless,
He’s ruthless, no mariner is safe.”
|
||||
13. |
|
|||
Well this is the end,
My fairweather friend,
You’ve come a long way,
Many rivals you’ve made,
Now a convict on the run,
Ye can’t be trusting anyone,
They’re after yer blood,
They’re after yer blood!
Big storm’s brewing, it’s started raining,
Ye pay me well so i’m not complaining,
Use my boat to get t’ island,
But i’ll be waiting on the dry land
Take this scope and you’ll see him up there,
But where’s the man who wears the footwear?
We will never know,
We will never know!
Sicario’s atop the beacon,
Make no noise so you can sneak-in
Lighthouse man, good luck you’ll need it,
You’ve come this far for you to quit this,
Stop this madness once and for all,
Best be quick, do not stall,
I’ll be waiting here for yer,
I’ll be waiting here for yer!
Thank you my friend
[Exit Lighthouse Man]
There goes a good man...a good Lighthouse Man...god speed y--

Soliloquy for a Sicario
02:05
|
|
||
My fearsome master is the lord of shoes
And I his humble servant pay my dues.
If he a shoe tax law puts upon the town,
Then I collect that tax without a frown.
And though my master's coffers grow with gold,
I still, at night, awake in sweats of cold.
For all my riches I have one complaint,
I can't fulfil my cruel desire to paint!
And though I know the Bible says within
That he who paints or draws commits a sin,
My wicked dreams do still engulf my heart
My only goal in life is to paint art.
But no mere man desires th'eternal life
That I with paint and pallet can provide
I only paint ships trapp'd by water and fire,
And make them timeless as their crews expire
I built a sly contraption to deceive
By misdirected light those on the seas.
Thus find I perfect muses for my brush
And works so fine they've caught the eyes of... the judge.
But now my meddling foe his death hath met
Tonight I'll craft my deadliest tableau yet!

Part I: The Calm Before the Storm
The sky burst open and unleashed a rainstorm,
Like no other Lighthouse Man had seen,
Standing ready to being his art form,
Sicario let out a menacing scream.
In the distance was a fleet of vessels,
Heading straight towards the island’s rocks,
He pondered over his collection of pastels,
And then considered using coloured chalk.
The good man stumbled up towards the tower,
Tried the door but it was locked from inside,
He made an effort to restore the power,
But the generator-cables-were-fried.
He started climbing the soaking walls,
Gripping on to parts of missing brick,
It was almost impossible,
For the old man to retain his grip.
----------
Part II: Atop the Tower
He climbed the length of the building,
Where he saw his enemy gilding the-canvas-frame,
And hadn’t seen him approaching,
Until the Lighthouse Man started choking,
On the toxic fumes.
You’ll never save those sailors,
You’re on the run from all the jailers who are on their way,
To this location, you’re simply an
abomination to everybody now.
He drew out his deadly cutlass,
Which was partly coated in gold dust, then-the-scoundrel
Waved it in his direction with the
Cold blooded intention to make-the-keeper-pay.
He dodged the blow by a fraction,
Which was the perfect distraction as-the-villain
Lost his balance completely and-the-Lighthouse-Man
Could act discreetly to-find-himself-a-sword.
Sicario picked himself up,
Waved his blade around and then struck his-adversary,
But in the struggle their swords clashed and the
Storm that was reaching its climax was deafening-and-cold.
The ships are approaching at speed,
My Masterpiece will surely exceed all-my-other-works
And you will never stop me, Lighthouse Man
I’ll make sure that your body is-buried-in-the-ground!
In the Ground!
In the Ground!
NAAA NA AAAAAH (Don't kill me!)
He kicked away the old man who was
Reaching the end of his lifespan,
Then he hurled across the platform and hit his
Head and the sound of the storm faded into silence.
----------
Part III: A Brush with Death
Get up, get up, my son, get up
This is your Father speaking now
Be strong, be strong, my boy, be strong
This story’s not over till he’s gone
Pick yourself back up, be the better one
Keep the fire burning from within
Do it, do it, seize his, pal-ette
Do what a lighthouse keeper must
But watch out, watch out, my child, watch out
You’ll only have a brush with death this once
So open your eyes. That’s it, open wide.
And end this conflict once, and for all.
----------
Part IV: Burning Passion
He woke from his vision
And made his decision
The artist was clenching
His scalpel and inkpen
The rain was pouring in down
Everywhere, all around
The old man was soaking
His foe was approaching
Who is, the cobbler?
He screamed at the monster
I’ll end you once and for all
I won’t rest till you fall
It’s useless, don’t you see?
They all think you’re crazy
When I’ve done my opus
Then your life will be hopeless
They engaged in a fight
It was a sorry sight
Sicario drew first blood
He fell down with a thud
He wiped his blood-stained lips
And pointed to the ships
The sailors were crying
As the storm was intensifying
The keeper charged at speed
To his rival he made bleed
He strangled him with rage
He had grown weak in his old age
His grip had unfastened
The deadly assassin
He threw him aside
And his sword was raised up high
--missing lyrics:--
(Suddenly, with a loud crash
A bolt of lightning, struck his cutlass
It fried him, and ended his reign
And the beacon, burst into flame)
[Sicario dies]
----------
Part V: The Seaman's Sermon
This is the end
It’s all done
The sicario’s dead
The power’s restored so
Come on you ships
Full speed to land but
Never forget
This lighthouse man for
I saved your lives
I didn’t betray you
This was unjust
The stories are not true
I hope that you’ll find
It in your hearts to
Forgive all my sins
And give me a fresh start
|
||||
16. |
|
|||
He lives so far away
But he’s gonna be okay
The light of the beacon is on
And evil is truly gone
He’ll guide those ships to land
For you, he’ll always be at hand
